Our hotel unit assumes, in its conceptual nature, one truly distinctive element, within the traditional hotel industry. Inasmuch as its facilities, namely the common spaces, they transformed in a truly Showroom or even garageof this rare patrimony, that were the bumper cars of the former Feira do Palácio de Cristal.
The most interesting about the bumper cars that are in Pão de Açúcar Hotel is that they itself where part of a delightful childhood of many children, in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s decades.
Those are wonderful memories that thousands of people have in common. As the comment made for a client on TripAdvisor testify:““The ancient bumper cars of the Cristal Palace…”

I had chosen this hotel for the character truly atypical that shows in all of its facilities. A different concept, of something that I never saw. I refer, therefore, to its eccentricity, demonstrated in its collection of original pieces of the XX century, from which I emphasize the bumper cars that delighted me and my brothers in the
70’s.
Reception
At Pão de Açúcar Hotel we welcome you with what best characterizes us. At the reception, we present from now on unique pieces from our collection, of which we highlight: from Portugal, a phonopostal, recorded in the Correios de Portugal, a rare piece from the 40’s, or a tin of “Ovomaltine”, from the 50’s, still unopened (Mint in box); from France, a public telephone booth “La Poste” from the 1970s; from Switzerland, a can of chocolate powder from the famous ‘Suchard Express’ of the 1980s; or even from the former Soviet Union, a framed poster for a show announcement by the great fado singer Amália Rodrigues, dated 1969, among other striking objects, originating from various corners of the world.
